When facing nature
Aging on the waves of a raging surface

Swallows inherit your pride
In the last breath of air
Going into your body
Seconds before you throw yourself out
To face the choices that you’ve made

Another voice silenced
Kept alive
By the edges and challenges
Writing another cliff on your palms

Remember why your are alive
Every day your palms change
The surface will carry your name

A new reason
Spoken in sign language
Every day

You stay

    Love the line “swallows inherit your pride” and the couplet, “Seconds before you throw yourself out
