Day 132
07.07.2014
Topic: Alone in the crowd
Topic given by Tommy Klemp

Sorrounded by an empty sphere
People around him
Vanish into a clouded blur
He sees no eyes
That look back at him
His own eyes flicker from side to side
For something he can hold on to
If only just a second
That can justify his painted smile
And worn disguise

Sound is dampened by the circumstance
The almost silent circle of noise outside
Is pressed into the bone marrow
Of this lonely soul

If he only knew that everyone saw him
He could have embraced
His loneliness too

    This is majestic.

  2. Hi Espen, I read almost everyone of your 365-day challenge poems (and have sworn to find the time to record one of them for your podcast before this challenge is over…), but I seem to have missed this one. It’s fantastic; your style is so intruiging. Keep up the great work!

    1. Hi Myriam.

I am pleased to hear that you have read almost all of the poems so far. That means a lot, and shows a commitment beyond what I ever could imagine from my readers. I am really looking forward to hearing your reading as well. Hope you will find time soon. 🙂
